June 29, 200619 yr Well, my wife wanted a new flat panel LCD for her computer so I ended up having an extra montior available and I decided to put it to good use.I ordered a PCI video card online (can't find them local anymore) and installed it along side my AGP card and it worked great!I actually got a slight increase in performance in MSFS after adding the third montior. I think its because there is and extra GPU to handle the workload.More than two is the way to go!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/151851.jpgHappy Simming!Scott :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy Gamming System Specs: (Built this one myself)AMD Athlon-64 3000+ (Overclocked to 2.35ghz)Gigabyte K8NS nForce3-250 Chipset 8x AGP Main Board2GB DDR400 PC3200 Memory (400mhz)2 - 160GB 7200 rpm Hard Drives 16x DVD-ROM Audigy 2ZS Gammer Sound Card (Set at FULL acceleration)5.1 Channel Surround Sound SpeakersNvidia Graphic Cards:256MB GeForce-5700 8X AGP Video (Overclocked) with VGA and DVI256MB GeForce-5500 PCI Video (Overclocked)TRI Monitors: 2 - 17" CRTS & 1 - 17" LCDCotytech Gaming CaseCH Products Yoke, Rudder Pedals, Throttle QuadrantSaitek Cyborg Gold Joystic for Helo's & Stick equipped aircrafteDimensional Force Feedback HeadsetsSaitek Eclipse KeyboardWindows XP Pro SP2Home Network for using the Instructor StationFS9 Sliders maxed with other settings at their best quality positions.Antalasing: 4XAnistropic Filtering: 4XResolution: 1024 X 768 32bitTexture load speed: 200Average FPS: 25 (Locked at 25)

June 30, 200619 yr Similar set up to mine. I too threw in a spare PCI video card to get the third monitor I was given as a hand-me-down, and it's given me 50% more destop space to spread my FS and FS utilities out amongst.As they say (or should say), once you've gone multimonitor, there ain't no going back!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
July 1, 200619 yr Nice. I have a few questions:1. What sectional chart program are you using there?2. You have my exact printer. Mine is also used to store extra cables in the front paper tray. :) Looks like you have the same APC batt backup I have too.3. Nice altimeter-clock on the wall! Where'd you find that one?Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
July 1, 200619 yr I think I can answer #1:The sectional program looks like Rana Rossains' FS Moving map program http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=nav&DLID=62743with the sectional charts updated by Matt Fox (12 downloads - the first one is here)http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=nav&DLID=62007
July 6, 200619 yr Hey Rhett,Sorry not to have responded sooner, but I have been flying alot in my real-world aviation job.Anyways, to answer your questions...1. The sectional chart program is called SoftChart. It is actually a hold-over from the FS Flight max program that used to be used with older version of MSFS and is now freely avialable on the net. However, I thnk the sectional charts must still be purchased to be used with Softchart.2. I have two printers, the one on the left is the Brother HL-2070N network printer and the one on the right is an older HP Deskjet 840C. You are correct with the APC Backups 500. It is a great little UPS.3. As far as the altimeter clock, I bought that back in the 90's at a flight school I used to be the chief flight instructor for. They ahd a supply store and sold them there. I think you can still get them online through companies like "Sporty's Pilot Shop" and others.Scott :-)ATP/CFII/DA20 Type Rated - Instructor Pilot - USAFA (KAFF), Colorado Springs, CO & at KCOSAOPA #00956593, since 1987Background in Corporate, Airline, and General AviationB.S.
