Active runways question

Recommended Posts

Guest

I have been practicing landings with the Dreanfleet Archer at Airport KOWD with FS Meteo. The runways at KOWD are 35 17 28 and 10.I get the winds at 280 @ 13 kts. Why does FS2k2 always want me to land on runway 35 no matter what the winds are?ThanksFavorite area to Fly--Alaska!

There are a lot of know issues with default ATC in FS2002.I, like most users, avoid it. Give Radar Contact a try, and you can land on any runway you want =)

ATC in FS2002 will always guide you to the longest runway that has ILS. If no runway has ILS it will always use the longest runway. Is possible, it will also choose the best runway direction of that longest runway for the existing wind conditions (if only one direction has ILS though...).
