January 5, 200719 yr Well once I finally got all my parts, everything came together really nice. Took me about 7 business days from order to completion and I'm not quite done tweaking yet.Parts4 Dell 19" 1907FP's1 Ergotron tripple horiztonal stand1 Ergotron monitor pole mount 1 Ergrotron 28" Pole 1 Tripplehead2go I can actually line up with the centerline @ distance now on approaches (problem I've had since FS 5.0), not to mention the wow factor of having some side vision throughout the flight. Performance didn't suffer more than 1-2 fps all around. I basically have stock scenery except @ LAX w/cloud 9 and Honolulu w/ some freeware. Performance at these two locations is 7-10 fps but it has always been like that. I plan on building a new computer towards the end of the year giving DX10 and other new technologies a chance to unwind.Currently all fs9 sliders all right, running asv6http://www.1337inc.com/4zup.JPGhttp://www.1337inc.com/4z1lax.jpghttp://www.1337inc.com/4z1lax2.jpghttp://www.1337inc.com/4z1lax3.jpg Core i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz on Water, eVGA Classified x58, 12 GB Corsair Dominator GT @ 2000mhz, Radeon HD 5870 1GB, (4) 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD's in RAID 0, X-Fi Titanium Sound, Galaxy DXX 1kW PSU, Windows Vista x64, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers

January 5, 200719 yr Author 15-30 (locked to 30) at all Standard scenery locations within FS9 with every slider maxed.7-12 @ Cloud 9 LAX / Some Freeware PHNL I picked up here on Avsim. My computer is definately not up to running FSX as I can't even play it consistantly at 1280x1024, with tweaks I have to turn down autogen/etc so much that FSX looks worse than FS9 :( Core i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz on Water, eVGA Classified x58, 12 GB Corsair Dominator GT @ 2000mhz, Radeon HD 5870 1GB, (4) 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD's in RAID 0, X-Fi Titanium Sound, Galaxy DXX 1kW PSU, Windows Vista x64, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers
January 5, 200719 yr At the AVSIM conference in Sep(?), Microsoft had 3 large monitors set up with FSX installed and it appeared to be operating without any FPS problems. (At least I didn't hear or see anyone having problems while testing it out). The 4 monitor setup here looks great but I think I'll stay with the 3 monitor setup with my TrackIR Pro hardware to look around and up at the overhead switches.Best regards,Jim
January 5, 200719 yr Now That's Kewl!!Just sitting here thinkin...Not that it's Bad mind you...It's not AT ALL...But...have you tried overlapping the monitor frames and would that make the space "Appear" to be half of what it is now??Keep in mind...I'm not saying it's Bad...I was just curious...Ultimatly...I'd love to have a set-up similar to yours...That's really nice lookin...Well done..

January 5, 200719 yr Author I think a Track IR4 will definately be my next investment.I will try the monitor overlap to see what it looks like, the only thing I could see being an issue would be a visible depth difference with one monitor being closer than the other. Thanks for the feedback guys! Core i7 920 @ 4.2Ghz on Water, eVGA Classified x58, 12 GB Corsair Dominator GT @ 2000mhz, Radeon HD 5870 1GB, (4) 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD's in RAID 0, X-Fi Titanium Sound, Galaxy DXX 1kW PSU, Windows Vista x64, Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers
January 5, 200719 yr "the only thing I could see being an issue would be a visible depth difference with one monitor being closer than the other."That was one thing that crossed my mind also...As well as it just may not be esthetically pleasing?? I normally like to(Try) and "Keep My Ducks in a Row" so to speak.. :+ ...So it may not be worth it...It's Mighty Dang Impressive as it is!! I was just curious...If you don't mind...Which monitors are you runing?? They are "normal" not WideScreen..Correct?? (I'm no LCD efficinado by any means)I like the looks of the Samsung 940BX...or 940N...I have recently purchased a Samsung 204B which I like very much so far...But it's native resolution is 1600x1200...I was told that TH2G won't support that...I can see myself joining you guys with a similar set-up...I just have some learning/saving to do..he heYour pics have me Drooling Though...Have Fun...
