Magnetic variation

Recommended Posts

Yes it is. In fact, if you have FSNavigator it will show you the magvar of a given airport, along with its Lat/Lon. Most scenery designers will tell you; Magnetic Variation in FS2002 is real, and needs to be accounted for.

Bill is correct but they are using old data. This is an ever present problem with flightsimulators, MSFS2002 or Multimillion $ flight sims.

>Thanks. How do I learn the values for a given location? Use Slew mode (press the "Y" key) to aim your airplane due north (magnetic north as indicated on the plane's compass). While still in Slew, press the "Space Bar", your plane will plane will snap to point true north. Read the magnetic compass again to see the MagVar. R-

If you have FSNavigator, you can also locate an airfield near the point you want to check. The magnetic variation is listed in the airport information field.
