January 27, 200719 yr I did a search for Vista at TigerDirect. Can you believe the selection of Vista versions? Two pages worth and this may not be complete.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...t=Weight%20descSD
January 27, 200719 yr Why not just go to the MICROSOFT website and research there???? Surely you would know that you can find more information at the site of the developer of Vista than Tiger Direct????
January 27, 200719 yr The enthousiast/gamer should go for Vista Ultimate, the normal home user should go for Vista Home Premium. There's really not that much choice.Personally, my main computer will get Vista Ultimate, my laptop and the secondary media center computer will go with Vista Home Premium.MS has also announced a "Family Discount" that lets you upgrade up to 2 additional computers for $49/each to Vista Home Premium when purchasing one copy of Vista Ultimate.http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsv...ents-today.aspxPat
January 27, 200719 yr >The enthousiast/gamer should go for Vista Ultimate, the>normal home user should go for Vista Home Premium. Why? What advantages does it offer to gamers?Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
January 27, 200719 yr >>The enthousiast/gamer should go for Vista Ultimate, the>>normal home user should go for Vista Home Premium.>>Why? What advantages does it offer to gamers?>>>Marco>>>Marco, this link will tell you all the differences regarding the various editions.http://www.winsupersite.com/I honestly think you will want the Ultimate Edition, particularly, if you will at some point, upgrade to lots of memory, dual core, etc.
January 27, 200719 yr You'll be wasting your money with Ultimate, unless you plan to use your system for business with things like VPN, remote desktop (RDP), or file encryption. With Home Premium, you'll get everything you need. EDIT: If you want to check out the detailshttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getr...ns/default.mspx
January 27, 200719 yr Even looking through the various links provided, I have a hard time undstanding why I should spend an extra $100 for ultimate over premium.scott s..
January 27, 200719 yr Agreed. You can upgrade online with "Windows Anytime" to Ultimate anyway, in case you need it later on.Pat
January 28, 200719 yr You're right, it has nothing to do with hardware. The whole Vista situation is a real quagmire for most simmers and, IMNSHO, should be given top billing in the main forum for the next few months. Many folks are going to be making a big mistake by adopting Vista early-on and information in the main forum could save them some heartaches.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. January 28, 200719 yr He came here for the best information he can get to be able to run FSX. What better place then here. WE have everything from developers to engineers that could give the best advise. Instead of getting comments like yours. stating the obvious lame answer. Sorry, but I've had it with the recent "nasty additudes" of people on these forums. It used to be you could come here and get some solid advise with very little "I can't be bothered by you" comments. That's why I don't post much here anymore and I'm sure there's a lot of folks that feel the same way. BTW, some one else said it too, but I'll ask again. When did Vista become a hardware. Unless I'm missing something and it's because the CD is hard and not soft ????
January 29, 200719 yr How about this. It was moved because the only way it's related to FSX is that FSX runs on it. Other than that it really has nothing to do with FSX. Craig

You gonna buy me my copy? I dont have 300 bucks for an OS upgrade right now......
January 29, 200719 yr How about this, What does Vista have to do with Hardware ?? Saying that it has nothing to do with FSX is not correct either. Vista has more to do with FSX then it does with hardware as MS was claiming that FSX was designed for Vista. How about that ?
