September 1, 200718 yr I'm not sure it's that good, in light of the various discussions of process address space and the OOM issues and largeaddressaware. IIUC the system has to guard against a context swap in the video card, so must reserve process address space for potentially the entire video memory. That might not be that big a problem, except we now know there was a bug in Vista which might result in reserving 2x the required space (a hotfix for that was released this week). but even with the fix, users who are trying to allow FSX to use > 2Gb for its own use are finding themselves limited due to the need to reserve address space for the video memory. someone posted on this who had 2x512 cards installed and he couldn't use much more than the normal 2Gb as a result.scott s..
