Hire Someone To Help Build Rig In San Francisco Area

Featured Replies

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to hire someone to help me build a rig with the best processor, videocards, RAM, cooling systems, chipsets, etc. for FSX so I can perhaps save money that I would otherwise pay Dell, and learn how to do it so I can eventually do upgrades myself. Given my lack of knowledge about computers and limited time, I think I need someone where I live to help me step by step, rather than advice through the forum. I am an instrument rated pilot and part-owner of a Bonanza A36 and would certainly trade help building the rig for some right seat time. Many thanks, Bob

Geat idea and a very interesting offer Bob.I hope PC Gurus living around your area would grab the opportunity.Good luck.:)Manny

That's a great idea. But if you can't find someone I would encourage you to do it yourself. It really is just a matter of knowing what you want doing a little research, and making the plunge! I just recently built my last computer instead of paying someone to build me one and it was much, much, easier than I had imagined..Basically, what I did, was study the parts I wanted and asked for advice on those parts combinations. I took the advice I got, researched the parts that were recommended to me (newegg is great, using the user reviews couple hours a day) and found out what others were using and researched those. Sooner or later I had at least three or four combinations of parts that i was considering, and I narrowed it down from there. Doing that and checking in on the forums should provide a good solid bases for your build. I was prepared for a disaster, how I would handle troubleshooting bad components and ...it never happened. It went together pretty easily. The only problem I had is I forgot to plug in the power connector for the Video card, lol. A quick 5 minute check on the web and I was up and running.I guess if you really don't have time (couple hours a day would do it for a week) you could go your route, and maybe help a Flight simmer in the process, but you could do it. If I could, anybody could :D
