Trying to get Shader 2.0 on 945GM chipset (Intel GMA 950)

Featured Replies

Hi there,I've been trying in vain to coax FSX into user 2.0 shader water on my laptop in in FSX. But all I get is pixel shader 1.x water.Intel's spec says this onboard GPU (used in many laptops) can do Pixel Shader 2.0 and in fact Vista does get the nice Aero interface on this chipset.I've entered the Device ID of the chip in display.cfg and tried the following, but FSX ignores my wish for Shader 2.0 - duh.;----------------------------------------------------------------------; That's the Intel Windows Vista Driver, current one is 7.14.10.1329;----------------------------------------------------------------------[ igdumd32.dll ]Disable=1[ igdumd32.dll.1 ]MinDriverRev=7.14.10.1329Disable=2;----------------------------------------------------------------------; Intel 945GM (GMA 950); 250 MB total (64 MB local, 186 MB shared);----------------------------------------------------------------------[ 00008086:000027A2 ]Shader20Plus=20UseShaders=1VideoMemoryOverride=262144000Would anyone have some insight why FSX would still refuse to use the good water shaders here?Don't say "update the graphics card" because it's a friggin' laptop! ;-)
