November 15, 200718 yr I got my new Dell yesterday, actually a day earlier then expected. Let me tell you this system rocks. I thought my E6700 Gateway with the ATI X1950 XTX Crossfires was fast! I did have one set back though! My backup disk was bad, So I lost a lot of data. I did have an earlier backup drive which had about 3/4's of what I lost, so it wasn't a total loss. Here's a sample of the FPS I'm getting with this system. Settings I fly with is everything maxed except Autogen set to Dense, Water 2xlow and no bloom, lens flare, or ground shadows. Aircraft shadows are on though! 100% airline traffic.New York & JFKGateway E6700 ATI X1950XTX Xfires Win XP DX9 Default and non complex Aircraft (Like Overland) (Fair weather)15-21FPSGateway E6700 ATI X1950XTX Xfires Win XP DX9 LDS 767 (Fair Weather)12-17FPSDell XPS 720 E6850 8800GT Vista DX9 Default and non complex Aircraft (Fair weather)24-27FPSDell XPS 720 E6850 8800GT Vista DX9 LDS 767 (Fair weather)17-20FPSDell XPS 720 E6850 8800GT Vista DX10 (Acceleration - Since removed)_ Default and non complex Aircraft (Fair weather)19-23 (With Bloom off less 1 or 2 fps with it on.) Still not bad for New York!I removed Acceleration due to the backwards compatibility texture issue affecting older FS9 aircraft. I just have too many aircraft right now to deal with fixing the textures. While I understand the reason for the shift in policy from Aces stand point, I do think doing it in a patch/addon release is the wrong time to do it. That something that should have been done either at FSX release, or wait til FSXI!I haven't got to fly past New York yet, but being that is traditionally one of the biggest bottlenecks performance wise, I don't for see any performance issues with this system at all! Also I haven't noticed any blurries , or stuttering. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
November 16, 200718 yr Your results concur with mine on a slightly different setup: E6850 and 8800GTS 640. That kind of setup brings FSX alive! (FS9 also)Have fun.Pierre Pierre I9 14900K 5.5 64gb ram 6800 RTX5090 Asus Strix Gaming E
November 16, 200718 yr I have a Dell 720 H2C with a quad core 3.47 GHz and dual 8800GTX cards and 4 MB or ram. With dual monitors and all settings at 50%, I get 20-30 fps (set at 30 fps)with the LD767 in FSX. A solid 30 fps (set at 30) with the Cessena 172. I still am running low on memory and just got the "out of memory" pop up (with 4 GB). With everything cranked to 100%, I get 10 -7 fps during a landing at LGA in the LD767. Paul Gugliotta

November 20, 200718 yr I'm very curious. I just ordered a similar rig from Dell but the rep says they are not offering the 8800 GT as standard or optional. Guess I'll have to settle for the dual 8600 GTS's unless I can con someone at Dell. How did you manage to obtain the new card?Chuck
November 20, 200718 yr If Dell won't play the 8800GT game and the Dell system can come with onboard video, you may as well get that and pop in an 8800 GT yourself. Probably cheaper overall anyway :-lolGary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

Dell does have the 8800 GT with the XPS 720 that's how I got mine, and it still shows up on the customization list on the website. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
