Problem with Antialiasing after switching from ATI -> Nvidia

Recommended Posts

I just took possession of my 8800GT after years of running ATI cards. Yep, after getting used to ATI, and using ATI Tray Tools (what a great utility), getting this set-up was a bit frustrating, and there is more to learn.I used this guide:http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_11.htmlWhich was very helpful to me. You learn real quick that using an Nvidia card is much different than an ATI card, especially when it comes to using FS for things like AA...albeit you can modify 'on top of' the FS settings.Bottom line, go slow, start with a 'bare bones'(ugly) graphics setting, then while reading through the tutorial I posted above, make changes while in FS while in windowed mode. You will notice what effects settings have as you move from section to section, and also how it effects frame rates, or not. After doing that, I believe my image quality is actually better than I ever got with my X1900XT, or cards prior to that. Smooth as silk.Still much more to learn, but for all you new Nvidia users out there, take it slow, and forget about everything you used to do with ATI cards.ooops, and forgot to add....get Riva Tuner. But I did use the Nvidia Control Panel for most all my settings.

Thanks for asking but actually I've been investing all my spare time lately with configuring/tweaking my new HW - got a new CPU, new memory and a new motherboard as well and so far I reached 3,4 GHz stable with good temps and about 14.200 3D06 Marks but think I can possibly go even a bit further. Want to have my rig as fast and as stable as possible before I start installing FSX :)Also tried the 64bit version of Vista but experienced some problems with a couple of things so I think I will go for the 32bit version in the end. Will let you know the outcome once I have everything settled.
