January 15, 200818 yr Hi, I have both cards here at home and Im currently using the 6800GT to see if my stutter will go away. The stutters seemed to be there still. Just want to know what every thinks, if I should put back the ATI X1950 Pro card with 512MB of ram back in my PC since I think textures did load up quicker, or keep the 6800GT in my machine. Someone told me that FS9 does not support shaders from the ATI X1950Pro videocard and sticking with the 6800GT would be better. Would there be a way to turn off the shader feature on the ATI card for FS9?Thanks everyone,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

January 20, 200818 yr Hi Bill,I have used both these cards, and hands down, the ATI is superior in performance AND IQ in my world. I'd stick with the ATI and see if you can locate the stutter source. That is very tricky, of course, cuz there is no one right solution when it comes to stutters. Perhaps the who rig is slighly weak for what you are hoping for? That certainly contributes to stutters. What have you dont' to trouble shoot for or fix things that might contribute to stutters?Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. January 20, 200818 yr Author Thanks for the reply Noel, I think I have dont just about everything in the book to get rid of them. I have a couple of posted here on the hardware forum with my problems. Just do a search for Bill A in the hardware form and see. Thanks for your input on the card. January 20, 200818 yr Bill have you used FilemonNT to observe for periodic drive accesses by a hidden program or service? January 20, 200818 yr Bill, what kind of FPS are you getting with the ATI? Im thinking about eathier a new pc or getting 2GB ram (1GBx2) and a new vid card to keep my pc going awhile. Chase Barnett
January 20, 200818 yr Author Well with frames unlocked at get at KSAN with 100% AI traffic, Ground Environment Pro, Active Sky 6.5, Mesh Scenery free from avsim from FS Genesis, Ultimate Terrain USA & Alaska, Canada I get 35 frames if I'm facing the traffic and terminals, but if Im facing south from the north ramp then I get 60 frames. My sim does run silk smooth when its not stuttering here and there. When it does stutter the frames never drop.Regards,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

January 20, 200818 yr >I get random microstutters usually when banking and turning>on the ground.>>BillI'm guessing by this you mean a slight amount of lack of total smoothness when banking or turning on the ground, true? Kinda wonder if that isn't related to textures updating and loading, but not sure.Have you tried contacting the famous (or infamous depending on who you talk to, the latter being mainly people who haven't bought the service IMO) fs-gs.com? They offer optimization for a fee, called "system unification", which is based on the idea all components need to be properly blended or syncronized together [my summation] versus each component being maxed out, in an environment of as little overhead from competing services, processes n programs, for optimal SMOOTHNESS, not necessarily frame rates. I tried them a few years ago, and found it worked! Learned enough in the process to sort of keep things optimized myself for the most part. I have a degree of what you describe, and notice it is minimized with default aircraft to non-existent; with the heavy PMDGs, it's pretty nasty on the ground but only when the 2D or 3D or other is displayed, so I will often just hide those while taxiing and not worry about it. Clear them out and it's totally smooth turning. I have an x1950 Pro 256mb. I found my 6800GT was really the same. I have slightly better frame rates with the x1950. January 20, 200818 yr Author Noel, what do you mean with the 2D or 3D? Is this a FSX feature? I currently use FS9. Plus I get a major lockup and I have to reboot my computer when I access the aircraft menu for the first time on random times...some times it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have deleted my FS9 config and let FS build another one again to see of the problem will clear. So far so good but only time will tell. Im also using the Omega 7.10 series drivers.ThanksBill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

All I was saying was that if you use the W key (if I recall as it's been reasigned to a key on my yoke) to just see the front outside view, ie, make the 2D panels or 3D virtual cockpit views disappear, you can make even the heavy's like PMDG 747 deal with stuttery turns on the taxiway. I think it's reasonable to steer around the taxiways without always having instruments viewing, so you just learn to pop them back up when you are done turning. Kinda hard to look at instruments and steer around a taxiway anyway! For lesser birds there is no trouble keeping instruments views up and have very good smoothness even when turning, I find.
