January 21, 200818 yr My Logitech Freedom 2.4 is crapping out on me. After 2+ years the pots are getting really noisy, sending all kinds of crazy signals.I've decided the Saitek Cyborg Evo Wireless may be a good replacement for me. I split time between MSFS and military sims like Falcon 4 so a yoke is out of the question, and I simply can't afford $150 for a good HOTAS. I love the lack of tangled wires with my Logitech, but am dissatisfied with their quality - from what I can tell on their support forums their products don't seem to last much longer than the 1-year warranty.I was wondering what thoughts any flight simmers have on the Cyborg wireless, as all online reviews I've seen are written form the perspective of the Battlefield 2 type of gamer. Any problems with wear/longevity? Lag and responsiveness? Is the base wide enough to allow aerobatic or ACM type maneuvers? Problems "reconnecting" after the joystick enters sleep mode? Any other thoughts are welcome and very much appreciated. Thanks,
January 22, 200818 yr The problem with ALL wireless hardware is that, one day (usually at the most important time) it will let you down. I know it's nice to not have any wires showing but, they are not as postive as direct contact and never will be.I have the normal Cyborg Evo and it's a lot cheaper too. Dave Taylor
January 22, 200818 yr How long have you had your Saitek? My logitech's wireless connection is still fine, and I've even worked out a fix for it by using a wedge of paper to hold the y-axis pot firmly in place, lol. I use a notebook, so when it's on a desk I already have enough wires just with the power, printer, and headphone cords all over the place. Wireless is almost a necessity. My major concern is with the longevity of the internals and sensors, which I would assume are the same on the lower-price wired model. Thanks,
