January 31, 200818 yr Windex works great on glass. but be careful with that stuff on plastic. Big airplane cockpits have glass 'windshields' up front and plastic 'windows' on the sides. There have been repeated (and painful) experiences where mechanics have used Windex for the front windshields with great success, only to destroy thousands of dollars of cockpit sideview windows with the same stuff. They never knew what hit 'em (. . . that is 'til later, in the boss' office).Try this for plastic surfaces you want to still 'see through' when you're done (We use a commercial version at work).http://www.amazon.com/REARR1391-Read-Right...n/dp/B000V9YC4K
February 3, 200818 yr I just dilute lower grade rubbing alcohol (with only 70% isopropyl) with tap water. 4 parts water/1 part iso and use two soft cloths, one for "massaging" out any streaks. Still can be a pain tho.....oh yea, also heard that windex is not the thing to use. :~PRegards, Kendall#1: [email protected]/Coolermaster HyperTX2 Gigabyte P35-DS3L 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tracers PC6400 Seagate 250GB 7200.10 SATA2 Gigabyte X800XT -Cat 6.12's CH Yoke/Pedals/Saitek Throttle Dual Monitor: Dell 2405/1905 #2: Dell 8400 3.2 H.T. 3GB PC4200 Diamond Xtreme/Logitech X-530's Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B. May 1, 200818 yr A moist cloth with mild detergent is always a safe bet (squeeze it beforehand to avoid running or dripping water.Beware using *any* type of alcohol as some plastics are dissolved by alcohol.Since there are differences in the plastic from monitor brand to brand, check your monitor's manual as to the recomended cleaning procedure.- jahman.
May 1, 200818 yr You need nothing more than a soft lens cloth slightly damp (water) and then buff it dry with the other side.
May 2, 200818 yr Moderator >Spray some Windex on a cotton cloth...>>:-)If the Windex contains ammonia it can ruin your LCD - also do NOT use it on LCD tV's.Plain water and a soft, lint free cloth is best.Q6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx XG 174.74 702/1620/792Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
