>>>Known issue with newer drivers>>Want some advice? Forget Ntune or RivaTuner for adjusting>clocks.. Use RT for fan control ONLY and use, believe it or>not,... ATI TOOL for adjusting the clocks... works like a>charm here I have no doubt about your recommends, Nick but I tried ATI tool twice and both times it just generated an error w/o doing anything at all. Figured there was some incompatibility in my system and didn't have time to track it down. Maybe I'll try d/l it from another source.Don't use nTune at all for anything. Use RIva for o/c and fan control but I'm open to try again.Of course, if I lose my o/c stability with a new driver - what's the gain? Been running the o/c with the 169.38 for several weeks with no issues at all. First try with 174.12's and 3dMark6 locked up.Always interesting. I see that Tweakforce has XG174.16's for XP available.VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 169.38 beta o/c 702/1623/792Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg

Oh well,... it was just a suggestion that I hoped might solve the problem. There are differences in chipset registers and BIOS's that can have a defined influence on such things. I know what you mean. I ran into one last year on a RAID card that drove me nuts, to finally breakdown the chipset registers and locate the key that could not be changed and was forcing write cache to be disabled no matter what the GUI was set to. Was a hard-coded limitation and not software which required a different RAID card to fix.Sorry, was hoping it would help. I am using v26 and get it from the developers site.. http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/I also had Nvidia break clock support in RT some time back which prompted the switch to ATI Tool. I did not feel like upgrading RT because it was working perfectly with my custom fan profile, so I tried ATI Tool and never went back.
