May 3, 200818 yr I am in the process of ordering a new system and all the help here has been great, I hope one day to repay the time everone who reponded took.As now w/ FS( I use 3 monitors (present specs should be listed below). What I do is place a spot view on the 21 mon, a panel view on the 17/16 mon and FSNav on the 18 panel mon. (I relize or I think FS Nav is not yet avalible on FSX, thus I want to place a GPS in its place). Is this posible on FSX (ie windows mode and drag the views from monitor to monitor), or is there a better way. This would help as I I am wanting to set up the new V-Cards for the most options or at least try and make it upgradable.I appreciate any help. Thank you.Mark.OS:MS Windows XP Professional, Ver 2002 Service Pack 2 Hardware:Intel Pentium® 4 CPU 2.802.84 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM GeForce 7800GS 256 MB w/ DDR3 running a 21/19.6 Sony Flat Screen Tubed Monitorand a,GeForce FX 5200 128MB 17/16 NEC/Mitsubishi Tubed MonitorGeForce FX 5200 128MB NEC/Mitsubishi 18 Flat Panel.
May 3, 200818 yr Here's what works best for me. I start FSX in windowed mode with all panels and views saved on the primary monitor. Then I undock the things I want to move. Next, I drag things around to suit me, then I Alt + Enter into full screen mode because I get far better frame rates in FSX FS mode. When I finish my session, I go back to windowed mode, dock the panels back to the single primary monitor, and save the flight. It takes lass that a minute extra when I start FSX and less that 30 seconds extra when I end but works consistantly well. You'll want to experiment with where you place the ATC window. It seems to lose "focus" if it is on certain monitors, then I must mouse-click on it to respond to an ATC instruction. Flight Deck Companion voice checklists can also lose focus and I have to click the main veiw window to refocus.R-

May 18, 200818 yr Thank you.Mark.OS:MS Windows XP Professional, Ver 2002 Service Pack 2 Hardware:Intel Pentium® 4 CPU 2.802.84 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM GeForce 7800GS 256 MB w/ DDR3 running a 21/19.6 Sony Flat Screen Tubed Monitorand a,GeForce FX 5200 128MB 17/16 NEC/Mitsubishi Tubed MonitorGeForce FX 5200 128MB NEC/Mitsubishi 18 Flat Panel.Hello; After one week I guess I get the deal. I will read as much as I can here, please note (maybe it's me) sometimes the volume of info ((which is great at this site)) can blow a old guy like me (((all "old guys" (please note I am of the age that I used to call the home office in order to return calls). This is a graet site from which to gather data in regards to MSFS (any Version). One last question, after all the media spots should I get a Mac? Half joke, half hopping it's a joke. All above board, I really think MS has done one grat job with FS and I hope once Vista is de-bugged, that we will see large steps in coustomer satisfaction to match up with the release of future versons of MSFS.I really hope Vista can work out in the big picture and the hype that that and DirX together will be a great experince comes together.
