May 28, 200818 yr Good Day, ...... Sorry... Just saw the other post put in at the same time with the same question...... was not on the board when I started working on this post....Thinking of a new build... Upgrading from AMD 64 3500+...For FS9 and FSX which would be the better choice? I don
May 28, 200818 yr As you're not overclocking I'd go for the E8500. Even if you did over-clock the Quad the E8500 will stil perform better for FSX.Jim
May 28, 200818 yr I chose the E8500 over the Q9450 for right now, because it will give more performance. If you're worried about blurries with the E8500 dualie, don't be. No blurries at all. And 3.16 ghz is much better than 2.66 ghz in FSX.If you're not overclocking then for sure the E8500 is the way to go.CPU's are so cheap now, anyway, that you can always go back and get the quad in the future, if you want to or need to.RhettFS box: E8500 (@ 3.16 ghz), AC Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64ASX Client: AMD 3700+ (@ 2.6 ghz), 7800GT Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
