Question on SLI Advantages

Ok, so my economic stimulus package went to "good" use; a new rig for my FSX :) So I am thinking of taking another step, and that is a matched-card to provide SLI.Now, I've been to AVSIM fancon's 3-years straight now, I'm on the staff, I've been around for a bit. I've seen the hardware run, but I have to ask, given my current system specs below, will bringing an SLI into play REALLY give me more performance?And the bigger question, is it enough of a boost to warrant spending another $199 on a second GPU? My system specs are below, and thanks in advance for the help! :) (specs are below)

You are not going to gain anything performance wise from SLI in FSX although you may in other titles. If your using your new rig strictly for FSX I would say spending the extra money is unwarranted.

Opinions will always varry on this .but I noticed a lot of frame rate increase with SLI 8800GTS cards and a quad CPU...(60-70)However those extra frames did not = better performance...And the beast was hard to tame for smoothness...So I pulled the two cards,bought a single 8800 Ultra and the frames are lower,it was very easy to tame at that point....(40-60)But no...using SLI 9800's is a waste,and pffers no gain in performance or smoothness....

Unless you are running a TH2G setup at max AA/AF settings, then no SLI is not worth it.Gary

I haven't gained a thing in performance in FS9 or FSX with SLI. Don't spend the money on the cards, and instead buy some nice addons. I'm so angry with myself for buying SLI instead of dual core. I really picked the wrong one.Don't do it.;-)
