Recommended Posts

HelloI posted before about my config file contained, my old 7600 cardand my new card 8800 ultra is listed in two places , as I installedthe matrox TH2go and changed to the 3840x1024 res, I recieved a reply from harleyman who kindly replyed that I should remove the config file and let it build a new one, or carefully remove the entries;I was wondering if you had the time ( no rush) to give me step by step instructions how to remove the file, so it will builda new one, which will only contain the new card, and the matrox3840x1024 res,I am on windows xp professional, fsx, deluxe ,acceleration,3 LCDmonitors;Thanking you in advance,Best RegardsDON

Guest Nick_N

you must make sure "hidden files and folders" is disabled firstI assume this is WindowsXPControl Panel - Folder Options - View Tabscroll down and place a bullet in "Show Hidden Files and Folders"click APPLY and close the boxBrowse to:C:Documents and SettingsYOUR ACCOUNT NAMEApplication DataMicrosoftFSXinside you wil see a file named:FSX.cfgNOT FSX.txt... make sure its the FSX.cfg filedelete it (or move it out of that directory if you have any need to save the file)Close the folder and start FSX. When you start FSX a new config will write itself to that folder. The first time FSX is run it will start up like it did when you first installed FSX.. music, the works.. just set everything back up as you had it. You may want to write all your settings down before removing the config file to ensure you remember how you had it set prior
