My TripleHead2Go died-what should I do now?

My TH2G died last night and now I need to ask the hardware gurus which is better-another TH2G or getting a new video card that can support up to 3 monitors at 1280-1024 resolution? I have a GeForce 7600 video card with 512 MB of RAM currently and am running on Win XP. I'll have to check when I get home about what my motherboard specs are. I know it's an ASUS board with 1 PCIe slot. I'm pretty sure it a P5B to run my core duo.Thanks,Eric

I don't know of any GPU's that have 3 outputs?I think another TH2GO will be your only option if you want 3 screens.

Eric- your present video card can drive 2 monitors. Can you add another card as well for the third mon? If so, your system looks like it could run triple mons in 2D very nicely. (the 2nd card doesn't have to be anything fancy.)I would make the case that the 2D panel plus popups open and a triple wide 135

My ASUS P5B board has 1 PCIe x 16 slot, 3 PCIe x 1 slots, and 3 PCI slots. If my video card can accommodate 2 screens, how do I do that? Is there some sort of splitter I can buy to get them hooked up? If I purchase another video card, how does that work when used with my current one? Does it have to be close to the original or does it not matter?Thanks,Eric

Eric- I'm definitely not a tech- perhaps someone with more expertise can chime in. But here goes!I think your video card likely also has a TV port. Using a simple adapter you can connect a secondary monitor there. (Such an adapter may have come originally with your card.) My 5 yr old 'puter uses these two connections on an AGP card. In addition I have a second, similar card in the PCI slot to drive the third mon.I believe you don't need a high powered secondary vid card- but I think one of the same family is wise to avoid driver problems. (Both my cards are GeForce FX5200. Really old but still work well.) I would look around for a used card of the same family as your main card.Once you've got the monitors to work, you need to activate them in the operating system (Win XP here). Set the resolutions and "extend the desktop across all three". That is, the mouse cursor can be dragged across all 3 mons from far left to extreme right- as if it was one big desktop. (search Windows Help for info)For details on this and correcting the view angles to "eliminate" the monitor bezels, search in this same AVSIM Hardware forum for "Multiple Monitors" - about the first week of July this year.I can assure you the procedures for triple mons are pretty straight forward. I've always used the Dual Head To Go and used both heads of my video card to drive all 3 screens and have never been disappointed. (See my specs below.)
