oveclocking a 9450 quad core 2.67

Recommended Posts

Guest nigel28

I just got my quad core 9450 2/67 ghz and I want to overclock it. I have a zalman 9500 on top of it and its on an EVGA 780i SLI board. right now in the bios its clock is at 333 x 8 multiplier. how should I do about overclocking? should I just raise the multiplier to 9 or 10 or raise the clock? Also, what voltage should I run at? I have heard 1.41-1.45 but that seems to be a pretty wide range.

Increase the FSB to 400 and make no other changes to see if it will boot into Windows. If it doesn't. then consider S L O W L Y raising your vCore.Jumping to 1.45 right out of the gate is pointless until you know what your particular CPU will do on Auto settings in the BIOS. It may only need a slight increase in voltage to reach 400 FSB or it may not need anything to get there.Check you temps with Everest, CoreTemp or RealTemp.Regards,Jim Karn
