New Upgrades- No Improvements

Recommended Posts

Guest scoeva

Hello all,I recently upgraded my video card from a XFX Nvidia 8600GT 256MB( tweaked with Nhancer), to a Sapphire ATI Radeon 4850 512MB. I also upgraded my CPU from an AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 2.0GHz, to an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 3.0GHz. Unfortunately I saw very little improvement, if any at all, in FS9. I find now that all of the menus in FS9 are extremely slow and found that my computer in general slowed down a bit. I thought for sure that these upgrades would have improved things. I put the 8600GT back in and found that my computer is now faster and FS9 (menus are alot faster) is about the same. Any suggestions or ideas as to why this is. Scott

Removed old drivers?-yes. Reinstalled new, deleted fs9.cfg?-No. And I did download the latest driver for the ATI. I will try again and this time will try deleting the FS9.cfg.ThanksScott

Okay. Seems like the problem was with the drivers. I decided to re-install the Processor driver and the Video Card driver as well as delete the FS9.cfg, and now I see an improvement. Thanks very much.Scott
