September 21, 200817 yr juhowee- I'm not sure if this applies to virtual setups- I've only worked with 2D panels.Check your keyboard assignments for- Look Forward Right. It probably shows as CTRL + Num 9. Make a note of whatever the setting. Now key Square Left Bracket- (AVSIM won't print this symbol- that's why it I show it as text). This will create a second view.Right click on this new image, then UNDOCK.Drag the new view to your second mon, then drag the edges & resize it.With Num Lock On, key Ctrl+Num 9. (Hitting Ctrl locks the change in the view. If you change the assignment to Shift+Num 9, you only need to hit Num 9 by itself to set AND LOCK the view.)If you have a third mon, you can set up View Left Fwd same way.The pic shows the ATR with triple views- approx 150
September 21, 200817 yr Doesnt work, there is only blank view with no panel on it. VC works but its too heavy for my machine :(check attachemnt
September 21, 200817 yr Your attachment shows a new VIEW 01! Right click on it & undock it- then drag it to the second monitor. Resize it there so it is as wide as the monitor and drag the bottom down/up so the two horizons line up!You should now have a total view 2 monitors wide. (In Control Panel/Display/Settings- you do have the box ticked for "Extend my Desktop Across---etc"?? That is, the mouse can be dragged from far left to extreme right across both mons?)Next open a popup sub panel such as Throttle. Right click it to undock, then drag it to the right monitor and resize as desired. Repeat with other popups such as COM. This way you "create" a panel for monitor 2. There really is no right side panel that you can use that corresponds well to the main 2D panel- at least that fits/mates properly. So you build one with popups! When you are happy- Save the flight so you don't have to repeat these steps next time. The screenshot I showed is a quite practical way of creating a 2D panel spanning dual monitors.Don't feel badly that you haven't enough horsepower for VC. I think a dual or triple wide 2D panel as in the pic is far superior- No panning or zooming needed. Imagine a REAL flight deck where the panel slid sideways back and forth and in out so the pilot could read a gauge!!!!!! When you've got your second mon setup with view and popups, post a pic. I can then lead you thru the steps to make your monitor frames "disappear" and keep both horizons synchronized in roll and pitch.Alex Reid
September 21, 200817 yr Noh, i dont want some panels to my second mon id like to have that forward-right -view (view that comes when you press num 9). But i will try that, mabye that is cool too ;)
September 21, 200817 yr And now i got another problem. I have new view undocked to my second monitor. but when i open overhead in etc. it shows overhead as height as is the new view in monitor 2. see this bad quality video, hope you understand ;)http://koti.kapsi.fi/~vastis/roina/problem.wmv
September 21, 200817 yr You can make the OH (or any popup) whatever size you want- just drag the top or bottom or side edges to your desired size. Resave the flight to keep that setting. Also, just click on the popup and drag/position it anywhere you want it on the screen. There is also a simple way to change the height of the View and still keep both horizons lined up- this is part of adjusting the view to make the monitor frames "disappear" and keep the horizons synched when the plane rolls. But that's the next lesson!Be aware that the OH panel is hard on frame rates- you might want to only display it as needed.Alex Reid

September 26, 200817 yr Icemaker- One FX5200 is AGP & drives monitors 1 & 2. The other FX5200 is a PCI card driving monitor 3. Motherboard is ASUS A7N8X-X with 2GB RAM & an AMD XP2200 1.8 processorOnly one MBoard/ one 'puter: just as it came out of the shop 5+ years ago. (Well I did have a tech do a house call to add RAM and he updated monitor drivers- about 3 years ago. I wouldn't dare touch the insides of a computer!)WideView is not needed since you correct for the width of the monitor frames(bezels) in Panel Config. A very simple calc. allows Views Left & Right Forward to be shifted sideways the exact amount of the bezel width. (Accurate to 100th of a degree!!) The result is that like the pillars of your car windshield, there is always a slice of scenery hidden behind the bezels- and the three horizons remain synchronized in roll and pitch. With accurate synch, your eyes see only a single image and the bezels "disappear"! (The windscreen posts in a real 747 are nearly twice as wide as my CRT bezels!)Keep a barf bag handy if you fly aerobatics! There are also settings in Panel Config to adjust for the angle of placement for mons 2&3 and for tilt back of all mons.-----------3 MONITORS (1 LCD,2 CRTs)= 1 view @ 3072 x 768 Resolution!!!!!!!
