AFCAD Woes

Recommended Posts

Captain,With my flight sim computer, there is so much addon material added, I wouldn't even want to guess where the conflict could be or even where to start looking. I did find it interesting that my other system (with a totally clean install of FS2002Pro) that the same conditions occurred, but like I said above, it seems that those of us that are having problems are very much in the minority. I don't think there is particularily anything that Lee Swordy could or can do to help here, because if it works for him and 95% of those that have installed it then the problem is obviously related to something other than his program. Having this program work for me is not on my priority list anyway as I'm from that 15% group of people that rarely if ever fly small to heavy airliners anyway and most of the airports that I fly into are not tower controlled and only a few even have a paved strip. I have a short list of aircraft that I fly on a regular basis and there is not a single jetliner among them, except for my Delta 727-200 or Tu-144 Concordski! I have a list of about a dozen aircraft that I find myself turning to and except for the two listed above they are all classic props or bush style aircraft. Bear!

Practicly the same day as the first post appeared,I started to experience the same problem, some default areas not coming up in "go to airport". I had just downloaded three files effecting the CYOW area. The first CYOW1 an airport modification file the two other scenery files installing direction towers at CYTR "80 miles south west off CYOW, appears to be same scenery coverage..after reading all in input on the forum regarding topic I systematicaly removed the files or isolated them to find the culprit..both scenery files were stopping the scenery rebuild at 69% therefore interferring with the complete availabilty of detail for CYOW area..It maybe a long process but suggest you try isolating file one at a time I'm sure the culprit is there...in other words no problem with AFCAD. Try to find recent download in the contaminated area/I'm not a garu just like things to work, sorry for not knowning the tech jargon...

Someone else mentioned it went away when they removed a file that added an NDB to an area in Canada, so it can be as simple (!) as that.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://www.calclassic.com/Cal Classic Alco Page: http://www.calclassic.com/alco/Freeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
