INS - Can I start it in Mid Flight?

Recommended Posts

Guest James French

I have read all of the INS instructions for the sample flight. Is there a way that I can start the INS in the middle of a flight? In other words, once I am half way over the ocean from KJFK to EGLL, can I enter the coordinates for KJFK as waypoint no. 1, and the coordiantes for EGLL as waypoint No. 2, and have it show me the distance, time, etc. between the two?

If you want to know the distance between the two airports then position yourself at EGLL, set the 0 and 1 waypoints as your current lat/lon and then feed the coordinates for JFK into waypoint 2.The INS needs the aircraft to be stationary before the current position can be entered.
