Endless Gear/ Flap sound?

Every so often I will slip and hit either the gear of flaps switch when on the ground (gear) or flying at full speed (flaps) and they'll make the sound like they're working and then stop and then repeat the process, essentially forever. Is there an easy way to cut this out when it happens?

Rich,The simple answer is to not slip and press whatever it is you are pressing ;)The proper answer however is no. The sounds start when an event (you pressing the button) occurs and will continue until it is complete.
