>Hi again Jana,>Just one question;>Are you using Pss, Real world, or Bob Scott FDE's?>Would be useful to know.Sorry for the late response. For the PSS A319/320/321, I am using the latest download from PSS. For the A330/340 series, I am using fantastic Bob's latest "H" version. These information will be displayed in the "comments" section of Tomaflex.Anticipate support for all PSS A3XXs by Nov 1, 2004. Stay tuned.New info is constantly updated at www.tomaflex.netJana Kankesan

Hello fellows,I see that there is a little confusion here about speed, and I admit that if you do not go into the books, it is easy to get confused. If you do not mind, I have cut and past a small summary of "speed references" that I posted in this forum a long time ago when PSS released for the first time the ABPRO product. In any case this as to be understood as a "lesson", but just to clarify how it is set up.Some of thoses calculation can be included in the TOMAFLEX software.EVERY THING BELOW THIS LINE IS A CUT AND PAST FROM TWO SEPARATE FORUM THREAD EDITED TO COMPILE ALL THE INFO. tHE FORUM THREAD CAN BE RETRIEVE IN THE PSS FORUM. iT WAS PRODUCED 2 YEARS AGO.WARNING.AS ASKED BY SOMEBODDY IN THE MODERATED FORUM TODAY, BUT I CAN'T FIND BACK THE THREAD WHERE IT WAS REQUESTED, I WILL SHARE WITH YOU AGAIN 2 SUBJECTS:1/ HOW ARE BASIC SPEED CALCULATED FOR USE AND CERIFICATION.ANYTHING RELATED TO 1/ IS BETWEEN THOSE SIGNS:<<<<<<<<<2/ HOW DO WE CALCULATE DISTANCE FOR TAKE OFF AND LANDING.ANYTHING RELATED TO 2/ IS BETWEEN THOSE SIGNS:[[[[[[[[[THIS IS A COPY OF 2 DISTINCTS REPLIES I MADE IN THE OLD FORUM. AS YOU WILL NOTICE, IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO WRITE THIS THE FIRST TIME, SO YOU WILL UNDERSTAND EASELY WHY THIS JUST COPY AND NOT REWRITE. CONSIDERING THIS, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE IMPORTANCE TO THE COMMENTS I COULD WROTE BY THAT TIME, AS THEY WERE RELATED TO OTHER COMMENTS FROM DIFFERENT PEPOLE IN THE OLD FORUM AND NOT RELATED TO THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRHEAD TODAY.MEANWHILE, DO NOT GET A HEADHACKE (I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE SPELLING) READING THIS, AND I HOPE IT WILL HELP SOME OF YOU, AND FOR THE OTHERS IT WILL RECALL THE GROUND SCHOOL FOR ATP CERTIFICATE...Cpt Cyrille de Lattre <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Cpt Cyrille,Good heavens !!! Great piece of information you have provided. Thank you very much. When designing Tomaflex, I did go through this info on another site, and eventually, broke my head over it. To apply this sort of highly detailed analyses to each and every add-on that is produced for FS2004 is simply not practical. Airbus and Boeing assemble teams of skilled specialists and spend years to compile such data. I really don't have the engineering expertise to manage such complexities. Also, aircraft.cfg files are altered every other day and updated. And hence, the planes often tend to behave differently. Therefore, for Tomaflex, I have adapted quick and dirty methods to obtain close-to-realistic data. As a result, I can apply my test protocol to any aircraft within a reasonable period of time. And most importantly, the user experiences what is predicted by Tomaflex and applies it meaningfully. It's practical, it's fast, and everybody benefits. It's funny how... ever since I started working on Tomaflex, I haven't had even a minute to do any flying for myself. I have been just testing, testing, and more testing. I have to admit though... it's been fun.Once again Cpt Cyrille, thank you for your input. I really appreciate it. However, I am not sure how much of this engineering will be applied to Tomaflex. One thing for sure. With on-going development and help from real aerospace engineers, Tomaflex will grow to become increasingly sophisticated.Keep your comments rolling !!!With regards,Jana Kankesanwww.tomaflex.net

Jana,i have to say that it would be impossible to adapt all the above calculation to TOMAFLEX.Nevertheless, I thought it could be usefull to the community to be aware of all the signification of speed and take off calculations. If ever one of us could include this in a package, it would be at such a high price, that it would be used for the real aircraft as it is in reality. Also to be honest, if I know how to explain those calculation, I do not have the knoledge to compile all this to obtain the third of what you did.Lastly, reading again to my post i noticed that part of the small board that I made under MS WORD did not show up correctly and thus confuse some of us.For this reason, I will send to you via your site the WORD file. Thanks for the job.
