FLX thrust

Recommended Posts

Guest pss1

In the real airbus, can the pilot use the FLX thrust when he needs more power to climb to higher altitude?I found this the only way I can get the heavy A330 to climb quickly to FL400 (assuming my weight is in the accepted range). Once I get there, then I reduce the thrust back to CL.Any help here would be appreciated.Thanks,PSS1

No, flex is for takeoffs. If a pilot wishes to climb to a higher FL s/he dials this in and the computers will take care of the thrust needed to accomplish this.
