Alternative Flight Dynamics for PSS A320??

Recommended Posts

Hello, finally I decided to post here to try to find an alternative flight dynamics for the PSS A320. Everything was well in FS2002 but now in FS2004 I dont know what have happened with the flight dynamics because for example in APP for maintaining the speed and Glide Slope I have to maintain a high pitch angle ( around 10

You could go to www.ifdg.net and download the A319, A320 or A321 models. Also look here on avsim where they are also available. You can then merge them with the PSS panel. The flight dynamics are very good indeed, particularly I find with the new A319. Although PSS will not (quite understandably) provide any support for the merge there are plenty of us who have it working very well who can provide any assistance you need.

I agree with Rob...the freeware flight dynamics included in the spankin'-new iFDG A319 (written, in fact, by PSS' recently-hired new flight dynamics guy) work well with the PSS panel, and should be easily adaptable to the A320 as well. Also, Pedro Oliveira has some PSS-compatible A320 FDE out in the public domain that many folks seem to like.It takes me entire weekends to write a good set of FDE files, and given the range of options already available for the PSS 320, I have no plans to tackle it as a new project. If any PSS bird were to get my attention right now it'd be the Dash-8, but that one's way back on the back burner now as well. Too much time spent developing, too little on flying...CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

I have tried the ifdg Flight dynamics, and in my first flight I couldnt fly above FL320 it doesn't climb more XD. I will try to find the solution. Bob dont't worry it was only a suggestion, your are makeing a great job with A330/340 FDE.thanks everybody for the replies

Make sure you're not trying to fly with the iFDG CFM flight dynamics and the PSS IAE panel.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

No, there's only one panel, but it auto-senses which engines are in use based on some settings in the aircraft.cfg file's fltsim.x section. It looks for "CFM" or "IAE" in the title or ui_variation line (I think it's the title line). If you look on the iFDG site under the A319/320/321 merge threads there's some discussion of this.At any rate, it appears to me that the thrust scheduling is different for the two engine variants. So if the panel senses a CFM plane and uses CFM thrust schedule, but the FDEs are written for the IAE (or vice-versa), it could cause performance issues.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC
