FMC CRZ MODE

Recommended Posts

Guest AWE_593

I have checked the specs on the real A330 and A340 and they are both able to cruise at and above .82 mach. Why is it that I am unable to program the FMC so that it will let the plane cruise above .82 mach? I have played around with the cost index and I have not made any progress on the PERF pages...I am stuck at .82!

good evening,im having the same issue only with A340... 0.82 is the fastest you'll go... while the A330 can cruise at a max mach of 0.86... so i can safely cruise @ 0.84 :)after a looooooooooooong time to get along and understand all the systems, i was happy that im finally flying them but now those glitches are annoyingi really hope that the Phoenix team would solve this problem in a cominup update anyway ill try to search behind this problem i might be able to find out where the problem lies

To my knowledge there are no plans to update the A330/A340 family. However you can adjust the Mmo yourself and thus avoid the overspeed warning. This is done by using AirEd and changing line 316 of the air file from its current setting of 0.8451 to 0.8600If you don't have AirEd it is available from http://www.simradar.com/File/2363/AirEd_Version_1_51.html but do back up your current air file first as you can cause havoc with your air file if you are not sure what you are changing.Edit: if you don't want to mess with AirEd send me your air file(s) by email to the address below and I'll adjust and return.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
