"More Drag" message won't disappear after deploying speedbrakes....

Recommended Posts

"More Drag" message won't disappear after deploying speedbrakes ....Even if IAS decelerates to the intended speed the message won't disappear. Also deploying the speedbrakes once more and putting them down again doesn't solve. This doesn't happen in every flight, but I don't know how to reproduce or what effect causes the message to stay.Thank you very much for any hint!Sam

Notice that too sometimes, usually after a very steep descent.

Right! Apparently nothing too unusual then. Can live with that. Thanks!Sam

Sam;Getting down to target descent speed is only half the issue...you also need to intercept and maintain the vertical descent profile path, indicated by the magenta dot on the right side of the PFD next to the VVI. You'll have the "More drag" message as long as the MCDU has determined that idle power alone is not sufficient at the curent configuration to both maintain an airspeed in the descent speed range and get down to and/or maintain the vertical descent profile path.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

I am expiriencing that too. I have posted the same question in a german forum where I got also the response, that this happens sometimes. No one knows why, the message even stays on the PFD when the aircraft has come to a complete stop on the runway! I have sent an email to the PSS support about that message, perhaps they can tell me more...

Hi,yeah i have this too, but only with the AB Pro Package. The bigger birds don't do this.Looks funny, parking at destination at the gate and having "more drag" in PFD. ;-)best regardsjanosch

Never had that. It goes away eventually, usually after getting to final approach altitude (by then I've of course got it all hanging out and am flying at 140 knots or so at 2500ft AGL or below).I'm not bothered by it, just a bit weird.

Thank you, Bob! As you're saying, the message appears in be beginning of the descent phase most of the times, when the magenta dot can't reach the path and normally turns off, when the speedbrakes are deployed. Once in a while - don't know how to reproduce the issue on purpose - "more drag" won't turn off. Regards, Sam

Hi all,In order to rid yourselves of the message, you must be in managed modeonly. Managed speed *and* managed descent. Then the msg will go away.Unless I mix "Descelerate" and "more drag" in my memory.
