Sidestick / Yoke History

Saw a picture today of an A330 with a yoke. That got me a little confused.Can someone brief me a little on the sidestick vs. yoke history with the A330 / A340 series?

Hi there,A300/A310 Had yokes. Don't know about the A300 FBW prototype Airbus madeand flew prior to A320/A330/A340.The latter three only have sidestick.
