An accident with PSS A332...

Recommended Posts

Hi, just finished a vatsim flight LIMC-EHAM somewhere near FUL vor...I had everything going well when i left computer for 5 mins. I was flying at FL400 (zfw 147,400kgs and fob 10800kgs). When I returned the plane was already stalling and somewhere 32000ft. I disconnected ap and tried a recovery by hand. The speed increased toward kias 750kts... to-ga connected.. my commands were not obeyed... plane was going around and around... and that's the end of the news..What might be the reason for the behaviour?

Help AVSIM continue to serve you!

Blame the co-pilot - he was in charge. I can't imagine what might have happened if you were in managed cruise; good job you'd no passengers!Good luck next time

If you happened to be flying with ActiveSky2004, that could have been it. They have had some problems in the past with the servers giving bad data and it makes the program go haywire, which in turn, causes your aircraft to accelerate uncontrollably and eventually blow out the engines, then the plane sor of flies itself into the ground eventually. Sound familiar? Anyway, Damian from HiFi says that he has fixed that problem so it shouldn't happen any more. One can only hope, it's very frustrating!!ChuckAthlon XP 2800+ | ASUS A7N8X Deluxe | Antec TruePower 480 PS | 1.0 gig DDR PC2700 | WD 60 gig HDD | WD 40 gig HDDTwin WD 160 gig SATA HDDs | SB Audigy 2 | ATI Radeon 9800Pro 128 | CH Products USB Yoke | CH Products USB PedalsNostromo n52 | Windows XP Prohttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Well I was indeed flying in VATSIM but I don't have Activesky... I was using instead of VATSIM-weather FS' own real weather.Otherwise I think PSS A330 flies very nicely..

Hello.I had a similar problem with a default FS aircraft. Everything fine at FL330 and then during a weather change (default IVAO weather via Squawkbox or FSMetar) the autopilot became crazy. PITOT HEAT was off. Check the WINDOW/PROBE HEAT switch on your overhead panel. I'm not sure you had the same problem since your IAS was around 750 and not 0.Happy flying.Georges - IVAO Id 145418http://ggka.online.fr/ia/logos/iaslogo.gif ISO658F - http://isomba.airlines.online.fr/http://isomba.airlines.online.fr/pictures/uas.gif UAS104 (Staff) - http://www.uas-va.org/

I have had the exact same problem with my A330. It has occurred on several occasions and becuase of this, I have stopped flying the aircraft (switched over to PMDG products - sorry Phoenix). The problem first occurred when I was on a long flight and I stepped away from the cockpit. I came back and MSFS had reset itself back to the original airport. I had no idea why so I started hanging around the cockpit a bit more. The second time, I witnessed the problem. The plane while at cruise altitude switched into TOGA mode and I could NOT take it out. All I could do was witness my plane overstressing as it went beyond it's max cruise speed.Next I turned off the overstress feature on MSFS. The next time the problem occurred (again TOGA just autoengaging), I had more time to try and unengage TOGA - all to no avail. I have stopped trying to solve this problem and simply moved on to another product, however I would love to go back to my A330 if someone could solve this.I am not, and have never used Active Sky. I am using a Dell XPS with a Radeon 9800/256MB graphics card. I do fly with Vatsim/Squawkbox and use the realweather that this program downloads. Any help would be appreciated.
