Airbus A330 Speed control problem

Recommended Posts

Having a small problem with the A330 using selected speed guidance. When taking off without a MCDU flight plan entered, I use FLX or TO-GA for take-off thrust. When climbing out, I move the thrust lever to "CL". Then I "pull" the speed selector knob and change the speed to say 250kts. However, this speed is ignored and the plane continues to fly faster upwards of 300+ knots. Also, sometimes the window goes to "----" signifying managed speed, which I did not command.. However, it seems that when the alititude in the display window is equal to or less than my current altitude, the selected speed will work.. I basically want to be able to take-off without a flight plan and control my airspeed using the selected speed control...All answers appreciated!thanks,Kevin
