PSS 320 REPAINTS USER EDITS

Recommended Posts

Guest djbbailey87

Hi there all just wondering why some of the repaints from the user edits section come out blurry. The PSS repaints are ok but how comes the user edits are blurry even when aircraft texture size is at the highest?

Hello,>Hi there all just wondering why some of the repaints from the>user edits section come out blurry. The PSS repaints are ok>but how comes the user edits are blurry even when aircraft>texture size is at the highest?Check your mip-map level FS settings, or the texture size setting or even your driver settings (if set to max perf. ?).Original PSS textures have no mip-maps, just one pic of 1024x1024 pixels. Mip-maps are smaller pics included in the texture file (512x512, 256x256, ...). PSS textures are saved as 888-8 extended bitmaps. Some user repaints have mip-maps and are saved as DXT3 textures like the FS default aircrafts (I use this format for best results with my NVIDIA GeForce 3 card). If you want to change the texture format, download DXTBmp (http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/) and convert your textures (uncheck "MipMaps"/"include when saving").Interesting background infos:http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/2...timized-01.htmlBest regardshttp://isomba.airlines.online.fr/pssrepaintsGeorges - IVAO Id 145418http://ggka.online.fr/ia/logos/iaslogo.gif ISO658F - http://isomba.airlines.online.fr/http://isomba.airlines.online.fr/pictures/uas.gif UAS104 (Staff) - http://www.uas-va.org/

this is because the textures contain mip-maps, i have found that although having no mip-maps avoids the bluries with the low res i run at the textures do not dispaly properly unless closs up so i use mip-maps for the fusalage but not the wing textures. so i recomend removing the mip-maps form the wing textures and then try; if all is in focus, great, if you still have bluries you will have to remove the mip-maps from the fusalage textures.
