That was at an airshow with no pax on board but it gives a good demonstration of the capability of these wonderful aircraft. Hopefully most airlines won't go for this as a routine manoeuvre due to the spillage it can cause to the champagne in business class.In the sim if you are pitching up too much when a/p is selected you had probably shot through v2+10 and the computers pitched the nose up to bring the speed back down.

Quite an impressive climb that, but I thought the "protected envelope" would have prevented such a manoevre, did the pilot switch it off or something?

The pilot can't switch it off. The fabulous performance was within the flight envelope apparently.
