New livery install: PSS installers will overwrites config files

For those of you availing yourself of the chance to buy more liveries in the current PSS sale, be aware that when you run the PSS installer, it will overwrite your config file with a new PSS one.If you are using alternative FDEs or have made other modifications to your config files (ie flap lift scalars on the A320 series), be sure to backup your aircraft.cfg file(s) before adding liveries from the PSS site. If all you're doing is adding liveries, all you'll need is the fltsim.x section for the new liveries from the PSS config file...they must be renumbered so that they are in sequence, however, eg fltsim.0, fltsim.1 etc. The order the liveries appear is unimportant, but they must all be numbered sequentially in the config file.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC

One more note on the topic...the installer will overwrite the config files for all the aircraft in the series, not just the ones you're installing liveries to. For example, installing a single new livery for an A320 will result in the aircraft.cfg files for the A319, A320, and A321 all being overwritten. Similarly, the A330 installer will overwrite both the A330-200 and A330-300 configs...and the A340 does the same for both variants of the A340.Good backup practices saved me lots of trouble rebuilding Rome...RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream Ii-III-IV-V L-300Washington, DC
