Long hauls with A330/340

Recommended Posts

Guest castleberg

Hello and HelpI own the PSS A330/340 as CD-Rom-Version. How do you - hard working professionals, loving fathers and husbands like I am - manage a long haul flight over 10 hours with these aircrafts? There is as far as I know no way to save a current panel state to stop and restart the FS9 later. It seems impossible to stop in the middle of a long flight, but then I don't have 8 or 10 hours left every other day. Please tell me. RegardsTom

the MCDU, DATA, PERFORMANCE page has a setting for 'pause at top of descent'this allows for continuation of longer flightsJohn PSS SUPPORTsupport@phoenix-simulation.co.ukhttp://www.avsim.com/pss/phoenix.jpg

Tom I use FS Navigator to do it this wayFly the a/c up to cruise alt and let things stabiliseCheck in the MCDU where the BOD happens, go into FS Nav and find what the heading is about 80 or so miles before BOD.(don't use the BOD as shown in Nav as this often differs from that calculated by your MCDU)Go back to your a/c, select slew and turn onto the the heading required.Go back into Nav, right click where you want to continue from and select 'fly aircraft from here'. After a bit of practise you'll find that things will settle down and you can continue the let down nicely.Hope you can follow this rather brief explanation it takes much longer to describe that do.Have funTony

Well. It's not exactly what I meant. This option requires that I leave on the Computer and FS9 as well. Why don't you have an option to actually save a certain panel state like in the 747/777 CD-Version?I wouldn't be a big deal and your aircrafts would become a lot user-friendly???ThanksTom

Man I just get'er up and let her fly. I will be out mowing, working, sleeping and the whole nine yards. I even fly SQ11 and SQ20 (Singapore airlines) the longest flights in the world from WSSS to KLAX and back. 17 hours and 40 minutes. I ain't sitting here the whole time!LOL!Wilson HinesUAL006VHQCCSenior Vice President, Corporate Communicationshttp://virtual.united.com --------------------------------------Proficiencies: PSS 747,777, A32x, CS 727,PMDG 737-700---------------------------------------FS2002|ActiveSky|FSRealTime|FSBuild2|FSNav|Jep SimCharts2|ACLoaderhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/checkcapt.jpghttp://heavylhc.com/images/av/anna.jpg

In my method above I refer to BOD meaning Beginning of descent it should, of course, be Top of descent - TOD.Sorry for any confusion caused.Tony:-(
