Crossing the dateline - ND problems?

Recommended Posts

Guest KD Larsen

I'm not sure if it's something I messed up (most likely was), but I'm currently in the cruise as NWA027 from SFO to NRT, and I'm currently seeing 2 green lines on the nav display. The problem starts with the first waypoint after the sateline. Apparently, instead of crossing the dateline, the line goes EAST to the waypoint! The distance in the FMGS are fine compared to those in FSNav (which I used to plot the route & check the distance).

Most of my flying is done in the South Pacific so the dateline is a regular feature to me.What you see is normal and is relected in other software such as Project Magenta.I can't answer if this is what happens in real life but if not then my thoughts would be that it's a limitation of FS.

Ok thanks! It did cross the dateline with no problems, and a few nm beyond the green line from the dateline to the next waypoint showed up normally.
