AXX very unstable on landing!

Recommended Posts

Guest BMI701EGCC

Good Morning,Im just having problems stablising the A3XX on the ILS aaproach.(Yes, ive re-entered the ILS frequency and started the default flight up and made sure the NAV button was checked)...When the aircraft captures the LOC it turns to the opposite but then immediatly turns back and tries to compensate. Ive tried approaching at a very shallow angle to final, but then the aircraft takes about 4 miles to stabilise on the final approach path, and it still isnt that great after that, have to manually land.Any ideas?Cheers,BMI701EGCCScott Waterworth

Very uncomfortable situation... and frustrating too !Well, I haven't got any trouble of this kind with my A319...340. I do not know how you're flying your ILS (capture) but to put it to the test just fly a circuit as follows with the A/P and A/T.Example A320 light weight / right hand rectangular circuitMCDU : Enter ZFW (Init- Next page)MCDU : Enter ILS freq - Course (Nav/rad page)FCU : Set FD - ILS (--> check PFD and ND)FCU : Set circuit altitude (3000 ft is good, above ground)Set flaps 1+FTO/GA power (A/T ON) and take-off the normal way, Gear Up FCU : Speed 205 kts --> Speed mode (keep flaps 1+F), A/P ONAt 3000 ft turn right by 90
