Getting Better Touch Down Vert Speed with A320 series

Simple question.I fly the PSS Airbus A319 a lot. Really like it. However, during automated landings I have not been able to achieve a vertical speed at touch down less than approax -550 fpm. Not much of an issue before ( game wise ) but now that I use FS Passenger, I get the usual "passengers didn't know if the landed or crashed...".... because really the vertical speed is a bit much for "real" safety. Where as my iFDG Airbus A319 flares good enough in automated landings giving me a vertical touchdown speed approx -300fpm.I put in all the approach metrics on descent ( baro, destination temp, wind etc ) and try and keep up on this all the way in with METAR and such.( Of course the jet gets all the right ZFW and fuel numbers before departing ). I am confident of my approach procedure for automated landings, giving me nice smooth final approaches all the way down the glideslope.I need some tips from the experts to help me get nicer ( lower ) vertical speeds at touchdown.Otherwise I will have to do manual landings and/or take over and go manual at about 500ft AGL or so.Thanks for anyone that answers this that can help me. :)

I don't have FSPassengers but if I did I would probably do manual landings on the occasions it was on. In real life an autoland will give a much firmer landing than a manual landing. There might be a tweak in the air file that would help but I'd have to do some investigation to see which line needed changing.So sorry, can't really help here. Anyway, why is it that the PSS Airbus should change to accommodate FSPassengers? Hello dear Fsp colleague ;)As Rob just wrote above, I never relyed on an autoland for smooth landings. Anyway it would "stole" me from one of the nice satisfaction. When I do an auto pilot approach, I switch the AP off at almost DH (or sooner if I see that the autopilot seems fooled by crosswind) I start flaring at +-150 feets and keep a speed a bit higher than 140 until the moment I heat "30". then I cut thrust and try to near the VS indicator to 0.This gives usually a VS between -100 and -200.It is important to keep enough speed for effective flaring. I gave the values convenients for my currents FsP airliners which are for now the good olds B727 and B707.You will find by experience the right values for your A320.FsP "accepts" landings up to some -350 fpm, begins to reward you below -230fpm with a "nice landing" and you get a "kiss landing" below -120 fpm.Take care !! if anyday you have a gear failure and go on belly landing, you must be between 0 and -120.

In real life, the only time I would let the autopilot land is a Cat II/III ILS to bare mins where my taking the plane off A/P at under 100 ft AGL just as I'm acquiring the runway visually is likely to be more risky than letting it land. And in reality, the certs for A/P landing systems are centered on safety, not comfort. Most pilots actually sitting through an autoland for training are gritting their teeth the whole way...You should be landing it yourself 98% of the time, and more accepting of a "biffer" when George takes the landing.CheerioBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
