Problem with a3xx on approach- I have a Theory

Please, this is just a theory, i am merely asking for some guidance and some help, do not take this the wrong way. Whenever I attempt a landing, either ILS or visual, autoland or manuel, i notice that the autopilot directs the aircraft to veer to the left of the runway resulting in a landing not aligned with the runway. I have figured out that it must be the autopilot because i have tried other panels in the same weather conditions ( no wind at all) and they land aligned with the runway. This has been a bug eversince i bought the product and i would like to make a landing with the autopilot directing me on course. My theory is to tweak the autopilot in the APTuning found int the a3xx folder within the PSS folder. Is this a good idea and what do i have to tweak to adjust the horizontal track when landing.Also, it is the flight director that is directing me off course.Thank you, I anticipate the reply

No, I don't think the tuning controls will help at all. They are parameters which control timing within the autopilot and A/T control feedback loops...I don't see that a timing change would likely help.My personal guess is that this phenonemon has more to do with the shifting magnetic variation, which is causing the approach course data depicted in current navdata to diverge from the data coded into the FS9 scenery database, which is based on 2002 real-world Jepp data. I recommend you try using the ILS approach course obtained from the FS9 airport database rather than what's depicted in current approach data.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I just flew 4 approaches in the A320 (into KJAC)...two using the 187 deg final approach course as depicted on current approach plates, and two using 185 deg, which is what the CDU defaults to (original FS9 nav data derived from the scenery bgl I presume). Wx set for a ~10 knot crosswind from the right.On the two approaches using the 187 course, the airplane drifted left of centerline on short final and tried to land off the runway to the left.On the two approaches using the 185 course, airplane landed slightly left of centerline, but on the runway.Not a definitive set of trials, but enough to convince me.RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

I have the exact same problem. I still use FS2002, my computer is not good enough for FS9 =/. How do I go about doing all of this?

BobI fly the PSS A340 with your .air file. Thanks for that.I had the same problem on ILS approach RWY23 to FNLU.The localizer put me well left of RWY centre course and wind was nearly calm.The current AIRAC shows the app course as 227

Bob;Thank you for your quick reply, and I'm sorry for messing up with magnetic and true..I'm trying to figure out what the best course of action would be in this case, since I have no way of knowing what magnetic course is coded in FS9.The Jepp chart I have is dated 2000 and says 233

Bob;You are right.Tried it today without ASV6, winds calm and it was just perfect.I guess it was all derived from the PSS ScareBus not being able to cope with 10Kts crosswinds.I wish I had the knowledge to come up with an improved Airbus Sim.I'd be rich by now, with so many simmers wanting to fly a better Bus.CheersJo
