Lights and Landing Gear Problems

Recommended Posts

Guest cjkdude

I have a problem with the lights going off after about 10 minutes (even with bat, apu, and ground power). None of the other electrical equipment goes out, just the lights.Along with the lights when I take off the landing gear do not retract. This happens on both the A320 and the A340 (only too airbuses I have).Any ideas? PS _ I went back to the tutorial to see if I was forgetting anything on startup.Chris

Chris,Try loading the default FS flight, then change to the A320/340 and move to the airport of your choice.Proceed as usual from there. Your problems *should* be solved.regards,

I was able to do a search (finally) and found a few posts with the same problem. Is there anyway to fix this without needing to register FSUIPC? I already bought your product, it should be fixable without buying something else.I don't see how it could be the "dead battery" problem because not only is my battery not dead, but my APU and engines should provide the power to retract the landing gear.???

>I don't see how it could be the "dead battery" problem because>not only is my battery not dead, but my APU and engines should>provide the power to retract the landing gear.It IS the dead battery. There is no APU in the default Cessna or 737 so having the APU on wont help. The engines running don't do much either since the battery has already drained and unlike an ordinary battery, you can't recharge this one. Please also remember to sign your posts - thanks.

When PSS designed their Scarebusses, Pete Dowson was giving away FSUIPC for free, so the fix was readily available and it really wasn't an issue. But, that said, think of an add-on running in MSFS like a camper mounted to a Chevy pickemup truck. If the battery goes dead every weekend because of a problem with the truck design, you can't reasonably expect the camper manufacturer to fix the problem...you need to go to the Chevy dealership. And when you realize that Chevy isn't going to fix this problem until a later model year (maybe) you can pay for an after-market kit that fixes the Chevy battery problem.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile
