Reaching cruise altitude

Hello,I've just bought today this great plane but i have a problem to reach my final altitude. I set my cruise altitude @ FL330 but at approximatly FL250 the pllane was stlii going up put @ 500ft/min. It was a very very very long climb.Can you help me, did i do something wrongThank you for your helpNicolas/NDY508

What was the max available in the MCDU (not what you had set)? Also be aware the real A330 is terribly slow on the climb.

A lot of how fast you climb is based on what cost index you have as well. Try a flight with CI of 50 and then one of 35 and see the difference.

Nicolas,Unless you were flying empty, its going to be very difficult to take off and climb straight to the ceiling level.When I asked what was the max available I referred to a value displayed in the CDU under PERF. This will show optimum and recommended max levels.

I will try with 35 at CI thank you for the tips and the level recomended in perf was 380 when i did a very long time to reach 310
