Steep turns

Recommended Posts

Guest lvp0412

Is there anyway to calm down the turns when in cruise flight? Seems when one gets to a TP, the plane rolls over into a steep turn throwing my passengers all over the cabin. Maybe I should turn on the seat belt sign before each waypoint???LVP (KCVG)

Please dont forget to sign your posts with your real name - its much more friendly I am sure you agree.Rob (Vrander) and others have indicated in their posts that it is possible and given a solution. A quick search will find the answer you seek.

The turns shouldn't be going beyond the two green lines on your PFD. There is a short term fix to reduce the steepness using the (unsupported-hence-undocumented) feature where you right-click the INIT key on the MCDU and scroll through various parameters. I am at work at the moment - coffee break! - so haven't got the figures I used once for this. I'll try to post again tonight with some figures for you to try.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

I only did one test on the bank, probably as I have never found it an issue. My results for this test were:Test #9Pitch/Elevator1.05.0500.0Vertical Speed/Pitch1000.01500.02.0Airspeed/Pitch2.015.00.4Roll/Ailerons3.010.02000.0EPR/Throttle0.0030.21000.0Airspeed/EPR2.010.00.5G Load/Trimmer (autotrim)0.11.0200.0CommentVery smooth. No noticeable problems. Very slight nose down pitch on a/p engage.I'll do another test but I recommend that you try it as well to see what settings work for you.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

I will give it a try. These are the settings from the "INIT" page or somewhere in the config file? If it's in the "INIT" page (right click), are they temporary or is it saved. Someone talked about the MCDU hidden mouse clicks, so I assume this is where you're talking about. Thanks,LVP (KCVG)
