bank/pitch rate too fast

Recommended Posts

How can i adjuct the PSS a319-320-321 settings in aircraft config files so i can slow the bank/pitch rates to a much slower, more tolerable speed. I saw in previous post that it can be changed via MCDU but i want to save the settings so i dont have to change them each and every flight.

Yes, it is possible to change various characteristics by right-clicking the INIT key on the MCDU. But these are not saved beyond the current flight (as far as I can tell) and there is no way to do so.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

there must be a way to change them via aircraft config setting. how would one change them if there were using a plane that has no MCDU. ive heard of changing pitch/bank rates before, using aircraft config files.

Darian,The method you mention is by editing the air file, something we don't support.

You say it could be changed but we had to do it every flight.. fair enogh but could you give us some reference pictures or diagrams to see what could be an appropriate setting after we right click onthe INIT button...for eg. best max acceleration???Deceleration zone??An MAx controller change??Since you seem to have you fingure onthe pulse maybe you can share whats the best settings to have for the rest of us in regards to PITCHING UP AN DOWN dramatically..

Before messing with flight dynamics where the outcome can be difficult to determine without a great deal of trial and error there are some other things you might want to look at. 1)Have a go at deleting the filesmodulesfsuipc.dllmodulesfsuipc.inire-install only fsuipc.dll and see if that helps. It has solved this pitching problem for others in the past.2) In FSUIPC on the Miscellaneous page make sure the "Discon Elev Axis for A/P" is NOT checked.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

i was asking for what settings you have or recommend..Messing with FSUIPC is the last resort its the Aircraft that has the issue's not MSFS..

JH_VLC, please sign your posts, it helps us to know who we're talking to.Either I'm not understanding you are you have understood me. Changing things in FSUIPC can have serious consequences, but not I think as much as changing some as aspects of the flight dynamics which are what you are doing with the right-click functionality on the INIT page.I'm not at this stage going to give any recommendations for the right click settings. Firstly because changes to those those are not supported by PSS and secondly because I don't actually have any recommendations. I have done some work on a testbed aircraft to see some of the effects and have produced a basic spreadsheet of some of the results, but in a few cases it really messed up the flight dynamics and overall I came to no firm conclusions. I don't recommend changing these settings and don't do so myself in the normal aircraft I fly. That was why I suggested the other solutions as things to try first. Deleting and reinstalling the FSUIPC dll is not a big deal nor is changing the Discon Elev Axis setting which has definitely worked for some pilots.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Ok after much trial and error.. As usuall the problem was something that can be fixed via a few small changes..I use the Saitek X-52 an have many key assignments set on my joystick so there is no need for me to touch my keyboard for anything..OK if you hit your "alt" key bring up "options" "Controls" "assignments" you'l see all the buttons you have set for different commands..Now if you scroll down an have a look at "elevator Pitch up and elevator pitch down" If you see it will have the keyboard , joystick and repeat..Make sure the repeat slider is set to the far left so when you press it, it will only change a little bit instead of moving .4-6 degrees at a time.. If using something else im not sure what you can do here but if your problem presists use the "HOME" an "END" keys these to make very slight changes aswell..A simple little fix made a big diference!Cheerz VH-JLC...

The Home and End keys adjust the pitch trim which you can see if you press the F/CTRL key below the lower ECAM. You'll see the effect in the middle of the lower ECAM. Looking through the forum you'll see we've often recommended changing the pitch trim to -2.0UP where pilots have had difficulty rotating.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Hi,I can't see "Discon Elev Axis setting" in the FSUIPC modules under FS2004. Do you need to register it before getting this option? I just can't find it.I'm having exactly the same problem actually when activating the a/p after a takeoff.Regards,Geoffrey.>JH_VLC, please sign your posts, it helps us to know who we're>talking to.>>Either I'm not understanding you are you have understood me.>Changing things in FSUIPC can have serious consequences, but>not I think as much as changing some as aspects of the flight>dynamics which are what you are doing with the right-click>functionality on the INIT page.>>I'm not at this stage going to give any recommendations for>the right click settings. Ok, thank you. I just made a domestic flight, and the approach is by 4000 feet/minute! It's like a roller coaster, i had to do it manually trough the v/s button :).Geoffrey.>This is in the registered version on the Miscellaneous page.>I'll check to see if there is something that can be done with>the unregistered version.>>Rob Elliott, EGPE Inverness>PSS Airbus Support and>Airbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual >airbus@speedbirdonline.co.uk>http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.html>http://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Sorry, another update. It seems to work with precedent version of FSUIPC as i've seen on this forum after some search. Maybe has an old version somewhere for a test. I tried with 2.96 but it's too old.
