Clarity of images and manual

Recommended Posts

Guest Jacob Lee

Good day all. I just purchased the Airbus base pack (A319/320/321) and, to be honest and blunt, I'm not too impressed. The clarity of the gauges/screens are bad -- they are not clear at all. The controls are not responsive to the joystick. Any way, can someone tell me how I can make the images clearer and a manual to know how to use the FMC (I know Airbus uses a different term). Also, where do I control the exterior and interior lights? Thanks for the help. Jake

Can someone tell me how I can merge the iFDG panel to the PSS Airbus? I think that will solve my problems.

Sorry, we don't provide support for the merge. What do you mean the gauges are not clear? We all use the same bitmaps and there is no problem whatosver with clarity. So could you post an image here of what you are getting. It could be an issue with your graphics card (?).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146563.jpgAlso, can you explain a bit more about what is happening with your flight controls. If you go to the Speedbirdonline Airbus hangar in my address below you will find a manual for the MCDU. It's very old (for FS2002) but the basics are still correct. I just never had the time to update it. You'll find other docs there that might be of interest too. But I'd be happy to take you through setting up a flight on the MCDU if you have trouble accessing the document or don't understand something. Just ask here (or you can email your questions to me).Panel lights are switched on with Shift+L. Exerior lights are controlled from the bottom section of the overhead panel.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/146559.jpgOne thing you need to check is to make sure you haven't got the "mouse flicker" problem. Go to flight simulator 9AircraftPSSAB-Propanel and look at the panel.cfg file. Make sure the window08 section says:Background_color=16,16,16size_mm=2,2position=7visible=1ident=59gauge00=PSS-A320!Server, 0, 0, 1Ther eis also a mouse flicker patch from the supprt section at the PSS website which we recommend you install. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, you must start your flight sim session with a default MS aircraft like the Boeing 737 with avionics ON and GPS/NAV set to NAV. This should then be saved as the default flight. You can then switch to the Airbus in cold and dark state or however you want it. If you go straight in to the Airbus you risk getting the dead battery glitch which is a known Microsoft bug affecting a lot of add-on aircraft. This is because various states from other flights are left over and not re-set.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

Rob, Thanks for the help! I was just about to post a new thread about the mouse flicker problem. I made the changes in the "size_mm" section of 08 (changed the numbers from "1" to "2"). Hopefully this will solve the problem. It might be my imagination that the panels aren't very clear. I will check again when I fly again and will let you know. Again, thanks for the help. I really love the A319/320 and hopefully my problems will be fixed or resolved now. -- Jake

How do I view the different panels (such as overhead panel to control lights)? -- Jake

Shift+2: toggles between IFR and VFR panelsShift+3: MCDUShift+4: pedestalShift+5..6..7 etc: large versions of the gaugesThis is a complex aircraft so I strongly urge you to go to the PSS website at www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk and in the support section are manuals for the A320 family (Airbus Pro). Or access tutorials from my Speedbirdonline Airbus hangar. At the moment with everyone downloading the revised 777 it might take a while to access the manuals on the PSS site but keep at it - you will need them.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
