Push back with Slew Mode

Recommended Posts

Hi People,Due to the fact that the airbus has not a sophisticaed push-back system like the PMDG 744 - i tried to use the slew mode - as i push the "y" key - the plane starts freaking out slewing around with engines turned on - what is the problem ? Did some of u experience the same stuff ??Marek form LOWW

I never ever push back using slew, it just isn't a sensible way to do it as you lose normal control and it's rather unrealistic. I use Rob Barendregt's pushback and taci (now called ground handling) gauge from avsim which allows you to push back, turn a set number of degrees that you specify, push back further, taxi at a set speed, arm the taxi speed for after landing and various other features. There is a small icon which I have put on the glareshield which you can use to toggle the gauge visible or non-visible. Every aircraft I have in the hangar has this installed on the panel and it is excellent. It is shown in the bottom right of the image below in its visible state:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/148788.jpgRob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk

As I mentioned in my post, it's in the library here at avsim. Do a search for Rob Barendregt and you'll find it. It comes with full instructions for installing it in the panel.Edit: By the way Rob Barendregt has just put up a new pushback gauge which is mentioned on the homepage of avsim today. But it only does pushback and not taxiing as well as far as I can tell. So I suggest you go for the groundhandling v4 gauge. The file is called rcbgh-40.zip. It's a bit different from mine which is an earlier version, version 2 I think. If you want mine let me have your email and I'll send it to you.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
