A330 Approach Problem

Recommended Posts

Guest cocoarevo

I've been having a problem where, with LOC and G/S modes engaged, it doesn't seem to lock on to the glideslope. The throttles move up and down constantly, so that end up around 30 kts above VAPP. Any ideas?

You have two separate problems here. For the localiser and glideslope problem you can check on the RAD NAV page whether the ILS frequency is correct for the runway you are landing at. I always do this as part of the descent checks. Also as a visual check you should have pressed the ILS button as part of the descent checks. This doesn't activate the LOC or APPR but provides a visual check on the bottom left of the PFD of the frequency you are turned to.For the approach speed fluctuating like that, have you activated the approach in the MCDU and followed the correct flaps sequence?Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual airbus@speedbirdonline.co.ukhttp://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
