Roch, a few questions for you. Would you be a bit more explicit about what steps you take to intercept the localizer? What is is your localizer intercept angle? When you select your runway in the MCDU the system will automatically tune the frequency and set the OBS for you. You still have to take one step manually. When you are within range of the ILS you must press the ILS button on the panel. You should not manually enter the frequencies or courses. Look at the MCDU radio page to ensure the correct frequency and course are there. If it is not, then perhaps your database is corrupted.

Just to clearify: the ILS button does not have to be on, but it is highly recommended. I've seen a lot of posts saying this button has to be on, which is incorrect. What the ILS button does is simply turning the "ILS view" (the dots) on and off on the PFD, allowing you to monitor the ILS. If LOC or APPR is pressed you will capture the ILS whether the ILS button is on or not (assuming everything else is correct - within range, MCDU setup, etc)./Rob
