FMC: Return to CRUISE

Once in DESC or APPR, I can not get back to CRUISE no matter what I try. Is it possible at all?Also, when I select a higher FL on the MCP, it is taken into the FMGC as the new CRZ FL, but not so when I select a lower one. I just get into DESC.Seems to be true with all 32X, 33X and 34X.

Disregard, activating DES or APPR clears the cruise altitude out of the PROG page.By re-entering the present cruise altitude on the PROG page gets me back to CRZ allright!The second issue I could not sort out yet.

It's the same. You order a lower FL on the FCU (thus entering DES mode and clearing the CRZ FL on the PROG page of the MCDU), then when you reach the selected FL, you put it as the CRZ FL on the PROG page. That way you should have done what you wanted : be in CRZ mode at a new CRZ FL lower than your initial CRZ FL.
